Reader Quotes
"I read The [New Zealand Farmers] Weekly and Country-Wide. You dig into the issues and I can follow the markets.
I think you've done New Zealand a great service by getting performance and production best practice out in front of farmers with your farm profiles. Your ones get a chance to get read, the other ones go straight in the bin".

Country-Wide has gone subscription

The Country-Wide went subscription in April 2011

F.A.Q's about subscription only from April 2011

  1. Why do I have to subscribe?
The new 100% subscription-based Country-Wide enables us to invest more in the valuable and entirely exclusive in-depth farm management information you want to read. We have also invested more in the format and presentation, making Country-Wide easier and more enjoyable to read.

  2. Will the content change much?
Content will be even better. Our aim is to help you grow your farming business. Editor of 10 years, Terry Brosnahan, leads an award-winning team of writers who work hard to create the ‘farm management bible’ for all progressive pastoral farmers.

  3. How do you know what farmers want?
We’re regionally based (Global HQ, Feilding, NZ!) with journalists located around the country. We’re in touch with our readers. We study the research, we run focus groups on both islands and we talk to farmers. Unique to NZX Agri is that all of our writers are currently farming or have a farming background.

  4. Will you still have North and South Island on-farm stories?
Absolutely! Farmers on both islands will find real value in the content. There will be even more in-depth on-farm stories in Country-Wide from both islands, for you to learn from and benchmark against.

  5. Why did NZX buy Country-Wide?
NZX is much more than the ‘stock exchange’. NZX is an integrated information, markets and infrastructure company that leads the way globally in providing information to help businesses grow. We’re focussed on NZ’s most important business: Agriculture. NZX bought all of CPL (Country-Wide, NZ Farmers Weekly, NZ Dairy Exporter and Young Country), previously owned by Tony Leggett and Dean Williamson. Leggett and Williamson both still work there and are still leading a nationwide team dedicated to delivering farmers the information that helps make our agricultural industry people successful.

  6. When do I need to subscribe?
Country-Wide was free to all farmers until March this year. From April all those who have subscribed (and it’s tax-deductible!) will get it. We know most will leave it until March, but there are some great incentives to subscribe sooner, and for longer (eg. subscribe now and get four years for the price of three)

  7. How do I subscribe?
Simply freephone Jen on 0800 85 25 80, or go online to www.subs.nzxagri.com. You can even pay using your farm merchandise card. It’s easy and worthwhile, so do it now!
